SAFETY FEATURES IN TATA HARRIER - MALAYALAM VEHICLES TATA

The Tata Harrier is a five-seater mid-size SUV produced by the Indian automaker Tata Motors which was launched in Indian market on 23 January 2019.

The Tata Harrier is based on the Omega Arc platform that has been derived from Land Rover and features various safety systems like traction control, cornering stability control, electronic stability program, roll over mitigation and hill decent control.

Let ’s take a close look at the safety features of the all new Tata Harrier SUV!

1. Six Airbags

The Tata Harrier SUV gets dual airbags as standard across all variants. The top-of-the-line XZ variant of the Tata Harrier comes with six airbags (driver, co-driver, seat side, and curtain) making it even safer.

2. Brake Disc Wiping

The purpose of the Brake Disc Wiping in modern cars is to increase the safety in wet driving conditions. when it is raining heavily, braking efficiency would decrease a bit since the pads have to clear all the water content, before coming in contact with the disc or rotors.

Brake Disc Wiping works in conjunction with ABS and the windshield wipers. When the wipers are activated, the ABS slightly applies pressure to the pads (in regular intervals); thus removing the water layer without slowing down the vehicle.

3. Corner Stability Control (CSC)

Cornering Brake Control (CBC) is an active vehicle safety system which assists the driver during maneuvering a curve at high speed. Thus, Harrier offers excellent control over the vehicle while driving on a curved road at high speed.

4. Traction Control System (TCS)

With Traction Control systems, Harrier optimizes grip and stability on the road during acceleration. The system cuts down the power (by braking and differential/transaxle action) of the wheel which loses traction (spins on slippery terrain) and thereby helps it regain grip.

5. Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

The Electronic stability program ESP supports the driver in critical driving situations such as skidding or imminent tipping over when driving too fast in curves.

6. Roll Over Mitigation

The system uses a rotation sensor to detect the amount of roll or tilt the vehicle is undergoing. If the tilt is beyond the permissible value or the vehicle is going to tip over, the system uses the TCS to break the wheels in a way to prevent the rollover.
